Writing
Growing up, I never encountered a single queer character in any of the myriad books I read, which, looking back now, I think is a travesty. And though queer representation in art and media has come a long way in that time, it’s clear there’s work yet to do. I’d like to see more queer representation in mainstream fiction because we exist and deserve to be a part of the narrative. I’m a recent graduate of the low-residency MFA creative writing program at University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe.
